Updating itunes 9 02
(a bunch of stuff that it uses to verify that your i Phone or i Pad is technically “updatable/upgradable.”)If sometime during the attempt, i Tunes is stopped from connecting to Apple’s servers, it throws an error.Error 9 is a rarity even then (more common is Error #2 and Error #16xx).
Different OSes and different setups have different configurations for proxy or firewall.
The easiest way to update to i OS 9.0.2 is through the Over-the-Air software mechanism available on the i Phone, i Pad, or i Pod touch: Another option is to connect the i OS device to a computer with i Tunes and install the update through i Tunes when notified of i OS 9.0.2 being available.
You can also download the IPSW firmware files directly from Apple using the links below.
This leads to a plethora of errors (different numbers) and it looks like Error 9 (while not documented on Apple’s support page) could also be one of them. If you’ve set up a firewall or connecting through proxy/VPN, you should make sure that this is not preventing i Tunes from connecting to Apple servers remotely.
When you try to upgrade your i Phone/i Pad, i Tunes connects to Apple, checks for hashes, security keys, etc.
